What We Do

BSR’s Work Force Development Department supports the development of the local workforce in areas including job readiness, skills attainment, educational advancement opportunities, leadership development, paid on-the-job training and paid work experience.  

 

Employing local people encourages stability and strengthens our mountain communities. We offer education components related to high school diploma completion, driver’s license attainment, continuing education and technical trades.

For Partners - Hire a Crew

The Department contracts with private and government land managers, non-profit organizations, and others for projects related to fuel reduction, trail construction and maintenance, basic construction, tree planting, forest restoration and rehabilitation.  

 

Big Sandy crews restore the landscape, improve recreational opportunities, and help build forest resilience through fuel reduction and other mitigation measures.
